This durable material resists moisture, weather, insects, and rot, ensuring a long lifespan. Plus, unlike traditional wood doors, a custom Prelude 2 won’t require constant repainting and sealing. To further enhance weather resistance and energy efficiency, consider adding a vinyl garage door seal around the door’s perimeter.

What It’s Made Of

The Prelude 2 boasts a strong foundation with a double-sided steel core frame. This frame is clad in solid ½″ vinyl facing with CNC routered designs, decorative panels, and optional window details. Explore the upgrades below to find your custom Prelude 2 design.

Can be left unfinished or painted in light colors with a light reflectance value (LRV) higher than 60.
Vinyl gets very hot and retains heat with sun exposure, which can create problems for darker paint colors.

Finishes & Colors

Prelude 2 is an unfinished, white cellular PVC door that doesn’t need to be painted. Our TimberLife Tricoya® composite comes primed, but we recommend factory-finishing it. You can learn more about your finish options below.

Finish Options

Leave the door unfinished.
Paint the door yourself.
Select any custom color with an LRV greater than 60.
Choose TimberLife Tricoya® and select a factory-finished dark paint color with an LRV of 60 or less in order to maintain the warrenty.
